The initial consultation gives us a chance to meet and determine the best way forward for you. We'll discuss your situation and what you want to achieve. I will explain how the mind works and how the techniques I use may be able to help and I will give you an indication of how many sessions you are likely to need. You can then decide if it is the right way forward for you. I will also give you a free download to listen to between sessions.
Subsequent sessions involve discussing your progress and identifying desired changes and a way forward, followed by guided visualisation techniques to help with the process of effecting beneficial change. The number of sessions required varies.
My practice is located at Dorking Wellbeing Centre, 173 High Street, Dorking, RH4 1AD. Please note that Dorking Wellbeing Centre is accessible by stairs only. If stairs are a problem for you, please get in touch and I will do my best to arrange to see you at an alternative site if remote sessions are not a practical option for you.
Hypnosis is a relaxed state of focused attention during which your brain is in a better state for learning and more open to suggestion. In a therapeutic context, suggestions are designed to help change unhelpful thought patterns. Hypnosis is a very ordinary state that we all experience every day. Have you ever driven somewhere and not remembered part of the journey, or been so engrossed in a film or a book that you’ve not noticed the other things going on around you? Hypnosis is this sort of state of focused attention. Hypnotherapy is not like stage hypnosis. I will not take control of your mind! You cannot be hypnotised against your will and nobody can make you do anything you don’t want to do. You are in complete control at all times and your subconscious mind will reject any suggestions that are inappropriate for you. Clients often comment on how relaxed they feel at the end of a session
I offer in person and online appointments. We can meet in person at my practice in Dorking or we can have our sessions remotely if that is more convenient. Please note that I cannot usually change appointments from online to in person or vice versa at short notice as they take place at different locations.
Initial consultation: £75 (60-90 mins, includes a free download)
Subsequent sessions: £75 (50-60 mins)
Smoking cessation: £150 (90-120 mins)
Payment can be made by cash or card at each session or by bank transfer in advance or on the day of your appointment.
If you are unable to attend an appointment as planned, I ask that you please give me at least 24 hours’ notice. I understand that sometimes this is not possible and, in such circumstances, I will do my best to work around you. However, I reserve the right to charge for appointments where less than 24 hours’ notice is given. No-shows will be charged in full.
I offer online sessions internationally where local laws and regulations allow it. I operate under UK Law even when sessions are undertaken internationally.
All information disclosed during therapy and consultations will be treated as confidential and no personal information will be disclosed to third parties without the express consent of the client, except where required by law.
In person sessions must not take place if you have Covid, flu or cold-like symptoms. I offer online sessions when in person sessions are not practical
